Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW) reaches 8 000 flight hours
16/8/2012 - PÁPA AIR BASE, Hungary – After 37 months of operation around the globe and huge efforts by the whole multinational HAW team, Heavy Airlift Wing reached 8 000 flight hours on the 16th August, 2012, three weeks after the wing’s 3rd anniversary ceremonies.

The HAW's Command & Control Squadron (C2S) and Logistics Support Squadron (LSS) had a change of command ceremony on 1 Aug 2012.

The Heavy Airlift Wing celebrated its 3rd Anniversary on 27 July 2012. Events of the day were joined by HAW members and their families, HAW mission partners, Ambassadors, and other dignitaries from Budapest.

The Heavy Airlift Wing commander welcomes everyone to celebrate at two events. First, a Cake-Cutting Ceremony at the Base Cultural Center at 1120 hrs Friday. Second, a 3rd Anniversary Celebration at Malom To’ Lake at 1800 hrs Friday.
