Heavy Airlift Wing Vice Commander

Colonel Scott D. Shapiro is the interim Vice Commander of the Heavy Airlift Wing and also serves as the Chief of the Bases and Forces Division, Directorate of Plans, Programs and Analyses, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

 



In this capacity, he is responsible for planning and implementing USAFE basing structure initiatives. Colonel Shapiro chairs the 12 nation SAC Advisory Committee serves as the US representative to the SAC Steering Board.

Colonel Shapiro graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1986. A command pilot, he has amassed more than 4,900 flying hours in a variety of transport aircraft. He has held numerous positions in operations flying units and has served in headquarters staff positions at the unified command and major command levels.
